hi, really glad i found you! i have a very simple question that i spent 45 minutes today ‘chatting’ w/ dell tech support via email & not sure i got the right information.
i have many, many folders, subfolders, files in my documents & think i think there are a number of duplicate folders i somehow copied from one folder to another. i want to print the screens with just the listings of folders, subfolders, files etc. so i can get rid of the duplicate data.
but - the ‘print screen’ doesn’t work. when i go to ‘file’, there is no print option. this seems like such a simple way to see exactly what i have in the way of data, but i can’t find a way to print out the lists of folders & files. am i going to have to hand write them? there are dozens and dozens!
the dell tech said there is no way i can print the screen that lists folders & files. somehow, i just didn’t have the confidence that ‘armando’ knew what he was talking about! am i wrong? was he right? i sure hope not. if this is the case, can you suggest a way to compare so i can delete duplicates. it’s my home computer, but i’m active in many organizations and keep multiple folders/sub folders & find that i’m not sure which folder i’m putting info in.
    appreciate your willingness to help.

    Hi Judy,

I’ve been up to Asheville many times with my family. Beautiful place.

You’re right that there is no built-in way to print a folder listing. The PrtScn key is used to capture an image of your desktop (or Alt-PrtScn to capture just the active window). You can then open a graphics program like Paint and paste the image there.

There are some ways to do it. I’ll make a post about it sometime. In the meantime, you might check out the discussion here:
